There is a calm before the storm where Equinox energies are coming through…
The Autumn Equinox happens when the Sun crosses over the intersecting point of the Ecliptic with the Celestial Equator. This sensitive point of intersection also correlates with 0° Libra, and lies exactly opposite the other crossing point, and powerful starting place of the entire zodiac: 0° Aries, also known as the Spring Equinox.
The Equinox points, Aries & Libra, reveal portals of energy where significant events come through, and this meeting of our Sun, now facing one of these great portals, is lighting up new possibilities and introducing new themes for the world, as reflected by the coordinates we call 0° Libra in Astrology.
The Autumn Equinox, or Libra point, is ruled by Venus, which means that Venus is highly in focus right now. If we look to her for more clues we find her at this very moment in the sign of Scorpio, directly opposite to Uranus in Taurus.
Given that Venus will be going retrograde in December 2021, while also becoming the new ruler of our North Node in Taurus in January 2022, endows her special focus today.
Venus is more than just the ruler of our Autumn Equinox, but also the planet that will soon be responsible for much of the upheaval being ignited in December, and our consequent shift of values that will span throughout 2022.
A revolution in love and relationships is on the horizon, a radical shift of power and resources is next in line, and Venus will be the one calling the shots.
She steps up today as the ruler of our Autumn Equinox and boldly displays an opposition with electrical Uranus.
An opposition is known for its dual nature, a pull between the two planets concerned, to either separate or to integrate, magnetize or repel. The opposition speaks of a phase where the situations and themes around those planets are ready to be fully seen.
Venus opposing Uranus during this Autumn Equinox is speaking of our readiness to see, witness and experience our explosive call for change become ignited, and reflected in the world at large. It is announcing an electrical autumn season, where a radical redirection of values within our current structures and value systems, including of sexuality and relationships, will occur.
This will happen in answer to our cry for freedom that can no longer be stifled, our need for revolution and evolution which can no longer be ignored.
Venus is highly in focus today on this Autumn Equinox, and we celebrate her (and her bold opposition to Uranus) in full awareness.
